Several hospitals in the Baltimore/Washington area in the Medstar group do not have computer systems today due to a virus that occurred yesterday. This may be a “ransomware” attack. All records checks and scheduling are being done using a paper backup system.

Sorry for brevity, I’m supposed to be working but I did not see a diary on this and wanted to get it out there. Apparently computer security at hospitals tends to be weak.
This seems like a huge infrastructure vulnerability to me.
