Well, Maryland is safely blue this year.

I just got back from the MD Senate debate. A few observations:

Who the heck are the Republicans? I’ve lived in this state for 19 years and paid the normal amount of attention to political scene, but I have no idea who those people are. Sacrificial lambs, basically. This is a blue state, but none of the three would come out against Trump. Not smart. The Dem winner will mop up the floor with their pick. Chris Van Hollen is a better debater, but the guy is an arrogant sumbitch. It’s okay to criticize your opponent, but don’t antagonize the audience. He had more supporters there, but Donna’s folks were more energetic — loud, even. He tried to correct them up when they disagreed with him and came off looking disrespectful. Both CVH and Donna Edwards are good progressive Democrats, and either one will make a fine addition to the Senate. I’m voting for Rep. Edwards, mainly because she’s African American. We’ve got, what, two in the Senate? If Van Hollen could give me a good reason to vote for him, I would consider him. If Van Hollen loses, I dearly hope he runs for Governor. He should beat Larry Hogan. The Green Party is fun. Their candidate ran onto the stage before the Dems got started, and she had to be escorted off by campus cops. I get that you deserve recognition, but wouldn’t that be during the general? I am going to miss Barbara Mikulski. Even the Republicans spoke of her with respect. Enjoy your retirement, Babs!
