Polling for Angela Alsobrooks, running for the Senate in MD, has been up and down lately.

The latest poll, done by Morning Consult, Aug. 30 - Sept. 8, shows her ahead of Hogan 48% to 43%.

The previous poll, done by Gonzalez, Aug, 24 - 30, showed her ahead 46% to 41%.

But the poll previous to that, done by Fabrizio & Impact Research for AARP, Aug. 14 - 20, showed them dead even at 46% to 46%.

Not sure I trust this AARP poll, because one of the polling teams was Tony Fabrizio, who is not just a

Republican pollster, he's a senior advisor on the Trump campaign team.

"Top Trump pollster moves from super PAC to the campaign"

"Under the new arrangement, Fabrizio will be able to communicate directly with Trump and his campaign team. Because super PACs are not legally allowed to coordinate with campaigns, Fabrizio had previously not been able to do so."

Then The Hill came out with a piece on Sept. 10, where they claim Alsobrooks and Hogan are tied. What is their evidence for that? "Senate Republican sources."

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4872178-md-senate-race-polls/

"Two sources familiar with a presentation of polling data given to Republican senators at a special meeting Tuesday at the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s (NRSC) headquarters say Hogan, a popular former governor, and Alsobrooks, a well-regarded local official, are in a dead heat.”

Why should we trust Republican sources? Typical of The Hill to put out a story like this.

One startling bit of data in the Gonzalez poll was that 21% of Democrats would vote for Hogan. Also, Hogan has a 50% approval rating, where Alsobrooks only has a 40% approval, mainly because she has less name recognition.

What Maryland voters need to be reminded of is that Hogan does not have a good record on abortion rights. He is not the moderate people make him out to be. Alsobrooks made that case well on Lawrence O'Donnell last night.

I emailed the Alsobrooks campaign to ask what we can do to help. Here's what they sent back:

"Thanks for following our race and for helping spread the word. In addition to donating, we need an army of volunteers - in person and virtually. Can you spread our mobilize around and encourage folks to sign up?"

We need to do everything we can to keep the Senate, so let's help Alsobrooks get elected!
