Switching to GOP

I live in a fairly Red county in Maryland, although we are fighting back. I’d just like to share some information I have heard on-line from several of my acquaintances, one a Democrat, another, an independent.  Both are switching parties in the primary to Republican. On the face of it, this does not sound good.

But...both are doing so with the intent of helping to knock out the crazyiests of the major Republican candidates for high county offices.   Both intend to switch back out of the Republican primary for the general election.

I just thought I’d let folks know that this is happening. Among the things that it might mean is that some of what folk are describing as an increase in Republican party affiliation is an attempt to undermine the crazies in that party.

I am not a great fan of the strategy, but I understand it. I also think it indicates that there are movements going on under the surface in this country. Not just those covered by mainstream media. Thus, the data interpretations may not be correct.

Further, it is likely bigger than that. My acquaintances are mostly older. Younger folk are way more adept at switching in and out of things, especially if it can be done on-line. I know that we managed to get QR codes on all the election information in the county, so this should give us a leg up.

Just sayin’.  Don’t let some bad data get you down.

Also, the QR code could be key to helping register younger folks. Encourage your election board to give it try.
