Received this e-mail today from Rep. Tammy Duckworth's (D. IL) U.S. Senate campaign on behalf of herself and Katie McGinty (D. PA), Maggie Hassan (D. NH), Donna Edwards (D. MD), Catherine Cortez Masto (D. NV) and Kamala Harris' (D. CA) U.S. Senate campaigns:

On this day in 1973, the Supreme Court affirmed that a woman’s control over her own body is a constitutional right. Yet 43 years later, we’re still fighting the same political battles over Roe. v. Wade.  Join me and other Democratic women who are running for office to stand up for women’s health. Add your name to defend Roe. v. Wade. Just a few months ago, I took part in a congressional hearing where Republicans spent hours attacking Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards in a blatantly partisan attempt to undermine the organization’s vital work to provide women’s health care.  When that didn’t work, they nearly shut down the government in order to defund Planned Parenthood.  In the past 43 years, Roe v. Wade has spared thousands of women from life-threatening backroom procedures. We can’t afford to go back to those dangerous times.  As we head into 2016, we can expect more critical moments for women’s health, including a pending Supreme Court ruling on Texas’ radical law that severely restricts abortion access.  That’s why it’s so important that we mark today’s Roe v. Wade anniversary by reaffirming our commitment to defending women’s rights. Sign on now: http://action.tammyduckworth.com/roe-v-wade Thank you, Tammy
