Friend, just two weeks since our Democratic sit-in on the House floor Republicans are up to the same old games. Please add your name and help us demand Speaker Ryan act NOW to call a vote on commonsense gun legislation. The House was back in session this week and Republicans continued to block the calls of the American people for an immediate vote on the bipartisan “No Fly No Buy” bill – H.R. 1076 – that would prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing guns. Instead of calling this vote, Speaker Ryan and his GOP colleagues tried to advance a bill authored by the gun lobby itself! The American people are looking for real solutions — they don’t want a phony NRA-sponsored bill that does nothing to keep our communities safe. Please, add your name right now demanding the GOP schedule a real vote on H.R. 1076, the ‘No Fly No Buy’ gun safety bill. Just last night the manager of slain Baltimore rapper Lor Scoota was himself shot down and killed near Druid Hill Park in Northwest Baltimore. These senseless acts of violence have become all too familiar in communities across our country and I am committed to getting action to address this crisis. But we can’t make headway without your help, friend. It’s clear Speaker Ryan and the Republicans have sold out to the NRA. They'd rather pander to the gun lobby than prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns.
