Received this e-mail today from Rep. Chris Van Hollen’s (D. MD) U.S. Senate campaign:
Chris Van Hollen (D. MD)Friend, for over a decade Maryland has had a proven and effective policy to increase the amount of renewable energy used by our utility companies. It’s a system that’s helped our state create jobs and be a leader in addressing climate change. Last week Governor Hogan had the opportunity to advance this important legacy, but instead he decided to block Maryland’s progress in renewable energy by vetoing a key piece of legislation. Add your name to stand with me and show Maryland Republicans that we are serious about renewable energy.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve never given up on a tough fight, especially when I’m fighting to protect our environment for future generations. That’s why I’m so invested in this fight. There are 4,300 people working in the solar industry in Maryland and the Governor’s veto will have damaging effects on their future and put thousands of jobs and hundreds of local Maryland companies at risk. Please, add your name and make it clear that fighting climate change and advancing renewable energy jobs in our state should not be a partisan issue. Thanks for adding your voice, Chris
